4C Health Marks 4 Years of Community Crisis Receiving and Stabilization with Psychiatric Urgent Care

March 2025 – 4C Health proudly marks four years of success in providing crisis stabilization through its Psychiatric

Urgent Care (PUC), which first opened in February 2021. This milestone underscores the organization’s ongoing

commitment to supporting individuals in crisis within rural communities by offering immediate, short-term care

and stabilization services.

Since its inception, 4C Health’s Psychiatric Urgent Care has provided care to 795 individuals, delivering critical

intervention and support when they needed it most. Additionally, the PUC has saved an estimated $3.3 million in

inpatient stay costs, offering a cost-effective alternative to hospitalization while ensuring individuals receive the

crisis care they need.

Located in Peru, Indiana, the 4C Health Psychiatric Urgent Care is a designated short-term facility designed to

support individuals experiencing an emergency mental health crisis. The unit offers a safe and supportive

environment, where individuals can receive care and observation for anywhere from a few hours up to 23 hours.

This essential service helps bridge critical gaps in crisis support across 4C Health’s seven-county designated area

and surrounding rural communities.

Dan Carey, Vice President of Psychiatric Hospital Services with 4C Health, states, “We are even more excited about

the future. 4C Health is part of a state demonstration focused on developing Certified Community Behavioral

Health Centers and our crisis stabilization services are just a piece of that. At 4C Health, good is never good

enough and that is why we continually seek to improve. We want our best for you and that means giving you our

best services when you need them. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you.”

Comprehensive 24/7 Crisis Care

4C Health’s multidisciplinary team includes Psychiatrists, Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses (RNs),

Pharmacists, Therapists, Skills Trainers, and Mental Health Technicians, all specially trained to provide

compassionate crisis care. At 4C Health, every individual is treated with dignity and respect as they recover and

transition back into the community.

Following a short-term stay at Psychiatric Urgent Care, individuals have access to a variety of outpatient treatment

options to support continued recovery and long-term mental well-being.

Walk-In Psychiatric Urgent Care Services

In addition to crisis stabilization, 4C Health offers walk-in, rapid access to psychiatric assessments and short-term

outpatient treatment for individuals experiencing acute mental health needs.
